Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services

Considering a Real Estate Transaction?

One of the first decisions you will need to make is whether you should work with a licensed real estate professional who will represent you.

The Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services Form explains the special legal duties that real estate professionals owe to their clients. It will help you choose whether you want to be:

  • a CLIENT of a real estate professional, who will represent you in the transaction, or
  • an UNREPRESENTED PARTY with no real estate professional representing you.

Effective June 15, 2018, licensees must use the “Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services” to disclose the type of representation they can offer a consumer.

This mandatory form clearly explains to consumers the difference between being represented and unrepresented, and which of those options they are being offered by the licensee who is providing them with the form.

Our agency, RE/MAX Kelowna, has created this video to review the Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services Form so you can make an informed decision on the type of representation you are seeking.
